Barn History

Our Barn was built in the 1930 and spent many years being used on a farm before it was moved to 504 Lake Chapeau Drive in 1966.  It was used as a recreation center for the students of Lea College. After the college closed the Barn sat empty for many years. In 1973 the Barn was reopened by the Sons of Norway Lodge. They had many gatherings at the Barn which included weddings, dances, dinners and other lodge functions. In 2014 the lodge closed and the Barn was purchased and used for many other group activities.

After my husband and I purchased and renovated the Barn and property, we opened The Barn of Chapeau Shores in June of 2019, as a wedding and event venue. Once again people were able to enjoy the Barns beauty and rich history.
